Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 REVIEW: Abhinav Sinha’s Game Pappi Steals The Show; Dibakar Banerjee Rushes Through The Superficial World Of Like, Share And Download
Director Dibakar Banerjee and producer Ektaa Kapoor are finally back with the much-awaited sequel of their 2010 hit anthology movie Love Sex Aur Dhokha. The first movie captured gruesome happenings like honour killing, an MMS scandal, and a casting couch through hidden cameras. The second movie follows the journey of three individuals and how their life is impacted due to social media. With a runtime of 116 minutes, LSD2 has received an adult certification. The movie stars debutants Paritosh Tiwari, Bonita Rajpurohit, and Abhinav Singh in lead roles, let's take a look at how Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 fairs.

The first story follows the journey of Noor, a transitioning female. A contestant in a reality show, Truth Yaa Naach, which is heavily ruled by public opinion and social media trends. Noor faces a lot of challenges when her mother, who disapproves of her son undergoing a sex change, enters reality. The segment packs a lot of drama while showcasing the harsh reality of celebrities undergoing sex change face from the netizens as well as their family. Starring Paritosh Tiwari, this segment of Like, also co-stars Mouni Roy, Anu Mallik, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sophie Choudry among many others.

The second story follows the journey of a transgender worker Kullu, who works at a metro station Ojaswi, and runs a YouTube Channel ‘Pyaar Ke Panchi’ with her partner. Starring Bonita Rajpurohit, this segment of Share, showcases the plight of Lovina (Swastika Mukherjee), who works for Ojaswi, as she tries to help Kullu get justice after she becomes the victim of rape. Mukherjee's portrayal of a single mother navigating her career while wanting to create a bridge between the top management and the transgender workers she handles is really commendable.

The third segment of the film, Download, follows the journey of a gaming YouTuber Abhinav Sinha, also known as Game Pappi. While he is unable to do well in school, he enjoys a huge social media following. He starts getting trolled by an anonymous internet user with the name Fullmoon. In a way to tarnish his reputation, the internet troll release explicit photos of the gamer, which are manipulated using deepfake AI technology. Scared he tries to find out who is out to tarnish his reputation. Frankly, with the way AI is being used these days, this segment creates a huge impact. Sinha nails his portrayal and at the end, you start sympathising with the 18-year-old.

Talking about the entire movie, just like the first anthology movie, even this one is seen through cameras as well as from the eye level of the protagonists, giving it a personal feel. While some bit of Kullu's story feels rushed, the director has made sure to balance the movie with the perfect background music. The part of the movie where Game Pappi goes to a party is well shot as it perfectly showcases how teenage influencers party. One of the best surprises of the film is Uorfi Javed's cameo. Her mindless ramble about war and earth makes one chuckle.

There are three songs in the movie. While none of them stays with you, the catchy tunes will surely lead to you grooving in your seats. The song placement in the film by Banerjee is also commendable.

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, despite its good plot line, stories, songs, and amazing camerawork suffers from impersonal character portrayals and rushed storytelling.
